Who We Are
Variable Outcomes designs and publishes tabletop games.
In 2011, I began designing tabletop games as a hobby. After play-testing my games with family and friends, I looked into submitting my game designs to tabletop publishers, but I quickly learned that most were not interested in game design proposals. Determined to release my games to the world, I decided to make my own tabletop game publishing company.
In 2015, I began earning my Bachelor of Education Degree at the University of Calgary. During my studies I realized that one of my game designs had the potential to be a great teaching resource. Witchful Thinking is a card game that allows learners to practice their Mathematics skills in addition, subtraction, mental mathematics, integers, and algebra. There is an Education Resource section in the rulebook that suggests how gameplay can be modified to suit the interests for learners of all age-ranges.
Despite the educational advantages offered in Witchful Thinking, this is not your typical educational game, rather this game is better described as a tabletop game with educational elements. Overall, Witchful Thinking is a great game for those who love tabletop games.
Now that Witchful Thinking has been released, we are working on several other games that are in different stages of development.
